By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when you register for an account and use the Service:

- Phone number
- Location (city/zip code for caregiver matching)
- Profile photo
- User role (caregiver or care seeker)
- Care need categories (e.g., elderly care, child care, special needs support)
- Messages exchanged through the platform
- Timesheet logs (for personal record-keeping)
- Ratings and reviews
- Medical diagnoses or medical records
- Social Security Numbers (SSN)
- Insurance or Medicare/Medicaid numbers
- Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA
We may also automatically collect device information, app usage data, and crash logs to improve the Service.
2 How We Use Your Information

- Create and manage your account
- Match caregivers with families seeking care
- Facilitate communication between users
- Process payments for private-pay bookings
- Provide personal timesheet logging tools
- Send service-related notifications
- Improve and optimize the Service

3 Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with the following third-party providers who assist us in operating the Service:

- Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account.
- Deleted accounts: Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance).
- Messages: Messages are deleted when both parties have deleted their accounts.
- Timesheet logs: Deleted upon account deletion or upon your request.

5 Your Rights Under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that data, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. CareJan does not sell personal information; however, you may still exercise this right by contacting us.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

6 Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure database hosting, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7 Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
